Fashion Faith Backstage

Posted on 10 November 2013

A week ago I introduced you all to how it feels like to be a fashion promotion student and also mention Juicebox magazine project, where my role is Creative Director.
I wish I could say "Oh, this role is heaven and didn't cost me any stress". Well, I wish. Actually, all this previous week I wasn't eating much, just like clementine for breakfast, glass of water around lunch time and evening... To be honest I can't really remember if there was anything. Lost weight? Hell yea! But no one should loose weight in this type of way.
Our Fashion in Faith photo-shoot was this Friday, which included 5 models from four different London agencies, three amazing make-up artist and hairstylist and of course Becky and Nathan - stylist and one and only - Nicole - photographer. For the first time arranging shoot myself I believe input wasn't small all make-up artist, hairstylist and models that I personally found were great! We all had such lovely time spending the day together. Wish there was no tragedies and bad incidents and they really were there... They always will when you deal with so many people and trying to make everything the highest standard possible. Decided to share backstage images from editorial shoot and hope to be able to show you the final outcome soon as well.

TEXTBOOK is on his way!

Posted on 25 May 2013

I think you all know that feeling when you meet the deadline and all the hard work you're done comes to one finalised item. This time the item is TEXTBOOK. I know my last sentence probably didn't make any sense to you. Remember when I was keep posting little sneak peaks about my university magazine project? Yesterday it all came to the end - we sent final version of magazine to be printed. Know there are just few little things left in terms of this project, just have hard copy of TEXTBOOK in my hands and do a group presentation if font of tutors Iain Bromley and Rose Percy. Have to admit it I'm really looking forward to it because our magazine Editor-in-Chef Elliot Rose is that person, who simply loves presentations!
I probably have to thank all of the people who helped out TEXTBOOK become what it's now - original, well branded, funny fashion magazine. So here is the list of main people who helped the most.
Our beautiful models - Shell Murray, Emma Sharratt, Anastasiya Nachas and Daniella Averina.
Fanatic make-up artist - Annie Mi.
Quick and professional whiter - Natalie Bell.
Cute and fast leaner of InDesign - Alexandra J Miller.
Biggest shopacholic of the month - Alice Wilson.
The guy with an iPad - Shawn W Clarke.
Stickest but the best criticiser - Rose Percy.
and of course our greatest editor - Elliot Rose.

And everyone who supported me and my team during the process of TEXTBOOK
I hope we will win and our magazine will succeed in London like  Pigeons&Peacocks. Can't what to have it in my hands, even saying it makes me emotional...

OMG! The new project, which requires to produced new fashion magazine based in Ravensbourne University, starts to feel like real competition between each group! All groups are doing their own thing - some of them publish every single detail and shoot that have done, some of them including my group are very quite and secret. I feel like spy posting about this but guys trust me I can't say anything (even the name!) about our magazine. This Friday I'm doing the first shoot for one of the editorials. We are cast two gorgeous girls for this beauty studio shoot. BOOM! That's all I could say... Sadly I wouldn't be able to share the photos I'll produce. Anyway, I will show you all a tiny sneak peak of our beautiful future models.

Stay tune! I promise you all new great shoots with these amazing girls!

During Easter time I was required to produce five different meaning and style feel to it having photo-shoots based on words. Sounds a little bit confusing? Let me explain this than. I had a list of words, each of them has a hidden fashion meaning behind it. It could be centuries like 30's, 60's or 90's. it could be photographers inspired work like Richard Avendon or Nick Knight, it could be one piece of clothing/accessory like varsity jacket, fur scarf, little black dress. The words were:
Siren, Stunner, Chic, Dolly, New Look, Boyfriend, Vamp, Flapper, Belle Epoque, Land Girl, Utility, Riot Girl, Streamline, Demimonde, Jazz, Big Band, Bombshell, Hollywood Glamour, Amazon, Waif, Grunge.
There was an example for us to clearer understand what we been asked to produce. Gwen Paltrow did something similar, that thing is all those images has to have the same model, so it shows how diverse the person could be.

When I firstly saw those words I almost screamed of despair. Later all came into place and I've chosen words: Boyfriend, Vamp, Siren, Jazz and Chic. Sad part is that on every final photo I had to apply the key word and I absolutely HATE writhing words over the photos! Ahrrr... Anyway, thanks to my model Eva Bart, who was so inspired by this ideas of words and expressing her model talent in various ways. The Boyfriend idea was to show a very urban girl with her boyfriend varsity jacket joking and having fun in London's famous skate park - Southbank.

The next photo-shoot was held near the Parliament, the key word is Chic. Dress is from Topshop, which one perfectly represented my idea of Chic looking woman, who's always on trend by knows her on style and plays with it every season.

3rd is Siren word. I think this one was the trickiest for me in term of how to make look model that she is by the ocean, when I clearly don't near the beach (God, I'm in the middle of city jungle!) So, I played a little trick, made her hair wet, lay down by little stones and accessorised with shimmering necklace.

4th photo-shoot is Jazz theme. Decided to play with gorgeous leafs and branches of the tree shadows to create soft and sophisticated woman image.

And last but not least - Vamp photo-shoot which one I really really really like. Model look mysterious and elegant that's how I imagine woman vampire.

Sorry, for such a long post but I though all this series images has to be in one place. Hopefully it wasn't boring to look through all the photos:) Remember, magazine project is coming up so there will much more new photo-shoots!
