Caryn Franklin AGAIN @Ravensbourne

Posted on 15 November 2013

This morning I had a delightful lecture given by Caryn Franklin about All Walks campaign Mix it Up!. It's not hard to tell that Caryn has experience a lot in the past 35 years, since she first came to fashion industry knowing less about it, than I know now. We as human beings all have dreams and majority of the times it relates with fashion and brands. Fashion industry is selling dreams for us of how it suppose to be and we starting to think "yea, I need this, I'm not good enough. I mean, look at these models and how perfect they always look". Sadly we all at the back of the our heads know that those girls are not real, that this type of 'beauty' doesn't exist. Adverts like D&G did with military man and boneless nude female model don't send any positive messages and makes me think, what the hell the whole team of people involve in it was thinking?
Because of people like Caryn Franklin we could see changes, not because she all by herself are making it, because of how she delivers message the students and as well industry people to see fashion in different way and don't really think just about people in front of camera but same importantly about people behind it.
I use this little occasion and have my first photo with famous and inspiring person - one and only - Caryn Franklin. Maybe I don't look like in my prettiest but oh well...

Promotion Student Life

Posted on 15 October 2013

Every time I pop out sentence about my promotion studies it follows with question: "Oh, what is that? What do you do?"
Let me tell you what means to study Fashion Promotion for me and how amazing it actually is. Promoting and most importantly understanding what you're promoting is crucial, you always have to be aware of things that going to happen in future, you basically predicting future of fashion based on consumers and industry people bahavior. This course gave me better understanding about way are you actually want that pair of shoes and not other one, sometimes I think it's becoming more like psychology lessons, not fashion. Every day I can check what is going to be new not next month, season, not even an year - I can check what is about to come in 3 years time from today. What colour is going to be the IT one and how badly sixteen years old fashionistas will fall for it. Promotion studies gives me knowledge of what Zara, Massimo Dutti, Chanel, Saint Laurent, Prada or Mango is going to have as their Autumn/Winter 14/15 collections. Let me show you some examples of research and inspiration points to see how I work. This is your 2015 summer wardrobe ideas, divas:)

But the most exciting part of all this course is to be able to create your own magazine. Imagine, 2 months intensive work with your colleagues and after that you're actually holding hard piece of YOUR OWN CREATED magazine. I cried a little...
At the moment we all again have exciting project to do. I become Creative Director of magazine main photo-shoot. DIRECTOR... Oh, I want to cry again haft of it happiness tears, other haft - stress. What it means is going to model agencies, writing them and hopping to get high standard models. Same with make-up artist, hair stylist and wardrobe styling professionals. All of this comes together to one big final moment - photo-shoot to Juicebox magazine.
I have never been happier in my whole life and stressed but is all worth it. Let me tell you something you already know, London is know as diversity city full of everything - high end fashion labels and designers, new generation of creative people from all the best fashion universities in the world, heritage like know other country have and people from all over the world. That why our shoot is going to represent people of London.

Sometimes I think that people from other Europe countries will think "Why do you even bother to take photos of those weird people?" I'm bother because I believe that right promotion, marketing, understanding of consumer needs is important and people finally should see the beauty everywhere - any shape, any colour, any texture, any pattern, any race, any continent, any individual.
This is what this island gave me - understanding.
And here is the link to our first magazine issue so far.

Fall Inspiration

Posted on 29 August 2013

Fall is already here and I would like to pinch some on my own ideas for fall/winter fashion.
Most of you already know, this blog is not all about what-to-wear-to-look-cool, this is not my thing I pretty much never know what to wear for special events or dinners. But what I most defiantly sure about is when I see colours/shapes/patterns, which attracted my attention, I know I will look for something similar in stores to purchase.
Here are some moodboards that inspired me and I hope it will inspire you too.

My Style Manifesto

Posted on 7 May 2013

I have to be honest. Ladies and gentlemen, I have too many clothes. I have 12 pairs of jeans (not trousers, just jeans) itself. TWELVE! Bloody hell... And they all are wearable.
I think we all will agree that style is not about having everything that is on trend at that particular moment, style is about knowing what suit you, showing off you on personality through clothing and always looking fresh (not on trend. For me, these to words are completely different). Due to this announcement I've decided to represent you all My Style Manifesto.
1. I will buy less handbags or at least buy one really good quality and wear it with everything. Just show timeless style.
2. Shoes is my addiction. Again quality instead of quantity.
3. I will NOT scratch and eat my nail polish when I'm sad or angry.
4. I will use less fragrance. Because not I just spray it all over myself from top to the bottom and waste it.
5. I will dress for myself not for what other want to see.
6. I will use more accessories rather than use stupid shape tops and jackets. (I will give them to charity)
7. If I gonna be in bad mood, I'm just gonna pick up black jeans and top and leave my house instead of crying over my mountain of clothes and screaming "I have nothing to wear!!!"
8. Make-up wise let the eyes or lips to pop out, NOT BOTH. Basically, less make-up.
9. Wear more dress during the summer time.
10. Start ignoring people, who says that you don't have sense of style.

BAAM!
I hope after few years time I could come back to this Manifesto and be proud because I could tick all of these boxes.

What a lovely and sunny day in London! That's why I decided to go out and take some summery shots of flowers and nature around my home. I know this post might going to look silly but these images and especially weather puts everyone in SUCH a great mood. Everyone is walking around with families, riding bikes wearing short shorts and skirts (this bit is a liitle stupid but that's what normally British people would do once the weather gets a slightly higher). Looks like a have new springy desktop image until the first rain. Oh well... I'm getting use to it:)
Hope you all a also in the great mood as well.

A little arrangement in my blog. Actually I changed everything! First my template - the previous one was too confusing, even for myself. So, here it's the new theme, simple, clean, easy to find post and pictures, read from beginning to the end. Also the fonts - Look at this LOVELY hand=written headline. Last thing, I promise to post more photos from my projects, the final outcomes, the little struggles and decisions I eventually came up with. And yea, that's pretty much it.

Sadly, I can't change the previous post typeface and size of the images :) Oh well, at least now I have a bright new, still with the smell of paint layout! Haha:)

Just me behind the lens. Soon will post the latest photo-shoot I have done.

Posted on 26 January 2013

Happy Birthday to me! Sadly I'm not a teen any more, turned 20 this January.
The morning started great, when downstairs and find a bucket of yellow roses from my wonderful parents. Later on that day I apparently had to go to university, sit there for couple of hours doing nothing, but my mood change once I had dinner and a fresh cocktail with my lovely friends. And then came all the presents... Let the photos speak itself:)

Thank you all for wonderful wishes, presents and cards. And special thanks for my boyfriend for his AMAZING surprise!

Flower Girl

Posted on 18 November 2012

All of the sudden, out of nowhere I just got an inspiration so I decided to work a little bit on Photoshop. I've chosen photos of myself, which ones was taken by Evie Parazite during the summer time.
Sadly, I haven't download the latest CS6 Photoshop from my university shop so I'm still working on CS5 one. I've never worked in this style - all pink, flowery, soft colours, lots of layers, heart shaped brushes and so on. I must say I actually like it, maybe I should use it this style more ofter. Here are the photos for you to judge:

I really recommend you all to check out Evie Parazite's Photography. All her photographs and contacts you need are HERE.
Have a nice and relaxing Sunday. Like I do:)
